It’s something we’ve all been asked at one time or another; nary a cocksmith or bondage weaver hasn’t heard the question from someone before, ranging from legitimate long-standing and respected reviewers to those just looking for free toys. My question is; how do you handle this kind of request? Do you send off a free toy and hope for a return in publicity/community awareness, or is there some kind of vetting procedure?
For us, we’ve been very reluctant to give out free toys. Discounts, for sure; we’ve got a whole formula to work out how large of a discount to give out to people depending upon their stats (like follower count, engagement, etc.), and I have heard an idea about keeping ‘review toys’ to send out and then ask for a return (to be steralised for the next reviewer), but I’d like to hear more people’s stances on ‘review toys’.
